Now a certified Cairns resident, Roz Pappalardo will reunite with her Southern musical companions (The Wayward Gentlemen) for a special show in Brisbane’s favourite live performance space, Livespark, Sunday 13 October.
Known for her work in enduring festival favourite folkie act, women in docs, Roz, the founder of her side project, The Wayward Gentlemen, enjoys strapping on an electric guitar or her new Gibson Hummingbird, slipping on country boots and bashing out a rock and dirty country sound with her motley crew of lads. The last few years have seen Roz play with this outfit across Australia, including supports for Tim Finn, Vika and Linda, shows on festival stages such as The Gympie Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Urban Country Festival, Tablelands Folk Festival and Woodford Folk Festival, amongst others, plus releasing a debut solo album, “This Lifeboat”, under the guidance of renowned producer, Magoo, in early 2010.
Roz is working towards beginning solo album number two early 2014, fitting in with women in docs’ single and album release tour late 2013 / early 2014.
Roz and The [Southern] Wayward Gentlemen boast a concoction of juicy slide guitar, male backing vocals, thick upright bass with a whole lot of raucous fun thrown into the mix.
If you haven’t heard them, you’ll love them. Don’t miss them at this FREE family friendly show (with the wonderful Chris Pickering).
