Landing from all corners of Queensland, be prepared for a little bit of
musical magic on Sunday 28 April when Roz (Cairns), Brad (Mackay)
and Slip on Stereo (Rocky) take their turn at Brisbane, The Dowse Bar.
Known for her work in enduring, and still active, festival favourite folkie act, women in docs, Roz
sometimes enjoys strapping on an electric guitar, slipping on country boots and bashing out a rock
and dirty country sound with a motley crew of lads she calls “The Wayward Gentlemen”. The last
few years have seen Roz play festivals with this outfit across Australia, plus releasing a debut solo
album, “This Lifeboat”, under the guidance of renowned producer, Magoo, early 2010. This
intimate show see’s her strip her songs right back to her unique vocal sound, acoustic and slide
guitar to try out some brand new tracks.
Brad Butcher hails from the outskirts of Dysart, a small coal-mining town in Central Queensland. As
earnest as they come, singing straight from the heart and writing about the things that really matter
in life, he’s had a busy couple of years since he decided to let his light shine and perform as a
musician for a living. A finalist in the 2012 MusicOz and Queensland Music Awards, Brad has
toured with Busby Marou, Pete Murray and Mark Seymour and showcased at Big Sound. Big
things are instore for this country boy.
Slip On Stereo recently relocated from Rockhampton and are set to take Australia by storm with
their sweet harmonies, gorgeous songs and great on stage feel. Bringing the house down
everywhere they play, this upcoming Dowse show will be no exception – especially as they are
about to bunker down and record eagerly awaited EP number two.
