Pete Murray
Blue Sky Blue: The Byron Sessions (Sony)
Pete Murray’s “Blue Sky Blue: The Byron Sessions” is a purely self-indulgent release. It was the result of Murray moving to Byron eight years ago and him finding that his jam sessions with friends such as Busby Marou, Brenard Fanning and Katie Noonan. The album features stripped down, more laid back versions of some of his well known songs. It’s a refreshing album to listen to the different versions but that’s all they really are. If you’re planning a road trip to the coast or just after a very relaxed chilled feeling this album is for you but if you are after the more up-beat studio tracks of Pete Murray this is probably something you might not be interested in. One of my personal favourite Pete Murray songs, Free features Busby Marou. Also keep an eye out for Hurricane Coming, easily the best track of this album. “Blue Sky Blue: The Byron Sessions” is out now.
