From “Sweet Home Alabama” to “What a Girl Wants” and, of course,  “Pretty Woman”, there’s nothing new in the idea of naming a movie after a song.
Still, did anyone expect a Leonard Cohen poem/song to inspire not only the title, but the themes within a science-fiction time-travel movie!?
Now that’s crafty!
Cohen’s sweeter-than-sweet lyrical creation has formed the basis of “A Thousand Kisses Deep”,  a Dana Lustig-directed piece about a young woman who, by traveling back and forth in time, realizes she’s actually dead.
It mightn’t sound like the poem and the movie’s synopsis have much in common, but they do…  it’s actually a pretty smart fit.
Dougray Scott, David Warner, and Jodie Whittaker – from the great “Attack the Block” – act away in the August release. You’ll be able to pick up the movie online (from its distributor here : http://www.osirisent.com/details.php?products_id=432&categories_id=#bottom )
