Brisbane prepares for Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour™ by Cirque du Soleil®

In just under four weeks Brisbane will welcome for the first time the phenomenal seven show season of Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour™ by Cirque du Soleil®. This spectacular music and dance event merges the music and moves of MICHAEL Jackson with the magic of Cirque du Soleil and is a once in a lifetime experience.
This electrifying production includes 49 international dancers, musicians and acrobats. Since its world premiere in Montreal in October 2011, the enormously successful arena production has thrilled audiences across North America, Europe and Asia. Just some of the celebrities who have seen the show include film stars Channing Tatum, Jason Biggs and Justin Long, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad fame, Alex Mergaz and Edi Gathegi from Twilight and the list goes on. A riveting fusion of visuals, dance, music and fantasy, Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour immerses audiences in Michael’s creative world. Aimed at lifelong fans as well as those experiencing Michael’s creative genius for the first time, the show captures the essence, soul and inspiration of the King of Pop, celebrating a legacy that continues to transcend generations.
AND – two local Queenslanders star behind the scenes.Gold Coast girl, Mimi Venker is a physical therapist withMichael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour and has been with the show since its creation. Growing up she attended All Saints Anglican School before going on to attain a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and a Master of Physiotherapy at Griffith University. She has been with theCirque du Soleil family for almost 10 years now and previously toured with Varekai, Dralion and Ovo, and worked at Zumanity in Las Vegas. Mum of three Analiese Long is another coastal creative and a Stage Manager forMichael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour. Originating from Eumundi, this marks her fourth show with Cirque du Soleil, having previously been a Stage Manager for Dralion,Saltimbanco and Ovo.
Writer and Director Jamie King is a multiple Emmy Award® and MTV Video Music Award® nominee and has choreographed some of the most popular music videos and directed some of the highest-grossing concert tours of all time. For the past 12 years, he has served as Madonna’s creative director, and most recently directed world tours for Rihanna, Celine Dion, Spice Girls and Britney Spears. King has worked with an array of superstars including Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Shakira, George Michael, Elton John, Diana Ross and Jennifer Lopez. This is Jamie’s first show with Cirque du Soleil.
