SCISSOR SISTERS ANNOUNCE AUSTRALIAN TOUR IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM MAGIC HOUR!

Hot off the heels of releasing their highly anticipated new album Magic Hour and following on from rapturous performances on the Summadayze tour in January, New York glam-queens Scissor Sisters today announce their return to Australia’s shores this September!

The four piece whipped Australian fans into an absolute frenzy at Summadayze with one review noting “Scissor Sisters incited the dancin’ masses to a righteous groove, with their disco-electro-rock n roll hits” (Take 40) and another praising “Scissor Sisters returned with a vengeance” (The West).

Of Magic Hour, Jake Shears says “It’s a sweet joyful mélange of beat-driven future-pop. It style-hops all over the place unabashedly.”

For the new album, the band have worked with a diverse list of new collaborators, such as Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams, Diplo, Alex Rihda [BoysNoize] and Azealia Banks.

The album was recorded over the past year in New York and London. Only The Horses was co-produced with Calvin Harris. The band’s relationship with Calvin started when Jake Shears was working with him on material for Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite album. “When we wrote ‘Horses’, I immediately knew that he’d help knock it out of the park,’ says Jake.

Since their debut release in 2004 Scissor Sisters have sold over 4.5 million albums in the UK. The albums ‘Scissor Sisters’ and ‘Ta-Dah’ both hit #1 whilst ‘Night Work’ reached #2.

So slap on your dancing shoes and get ready for one unforgettable party!
