They say the best stories are always true, and Chasing Jon is certainly shaping up to be our next national icon.
Writer/Producer Belinda Adams knows what makes a great Australian film – as she’s in the process of penning Chasing Jon, a fictional story loosely based on her own life’s trials, tribulations and of course, passion for Bon Jovi.
For years, Belinda has openly shared her fandom for her favourite rock icon, having been introduced to his music from a young age. Having experienced a great deal of roadblocks in her own life, she explains why she idolizes the rock god. “I think when we hit hard times we take courage from [role models], and for me personally Jon Bon Jovi has not only inspired me with his amazing talent as a musician, but his humanitarian work.”
This passion for helping fellow humans has translated into Belinda’s script for Chasing Jon – largely based on her own experiences with family tragedy, brain injury and having the courage to follow your dreams.
Belinda also hopes to give back to the town that played host to her own story, the iconic Broken Hill. The town has already set the scene for classic films such as Mad Max 2, Wake In Fright and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and the community certainly hasn’t lost its enthusiasm for filmmaking.
The Chasing Jon team will soon be launching their instagram competition to find Bon Jovi’s biggest fan (other than BelindA!), with entrants competing for 2 tickets to his Brisbane show!
