Join the Queensland Symphony Orchestra on OCTOBER 5 on a quest through Middle Earth at the spectacular music eventThe Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers in concert

Do you find yourself practicing wizardry like Gandalf, speaking elfish like Legolas, wearing a cloak and pretending you’re part of a Fellowship or have you gone the whole nine yards, moved to the country, bought a house under the ground and adopted the life of a hobbit? If you answered yes to one or more of the above questions, you HAVE to be at The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers in concert with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra at the Brisbane Riverstage on October 5! And, if you aren’t as “precious” as some about this global phenomenon, let the incredible orchestral performance, the starlight and the works of Academy Award winner Howard Shore (The Twilight Saga, The Departed, Gangs of New York) be your reason for attending!

On Saturday October 5, Brisbane’s Riverstage will transform into Middle Earth as it hosts a truly magnificent orchestral film event, The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers in concert with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO), and to pay proper homage to the great epic.

Imagine Peter Jackson’s epic film on the big screen with Academy Award winner Howard Shore’s score performed live by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Justin Freer, with the Brisbane Birralee Voices directed by Julie Christiansen, and Resonance of Birralee directed by Paul Holley in the natural open amphitheatre under the stars on an October evening…. Hobbit Hampers will be available on the evening!!

Following sold-out performances for the first instalment of this incredible orchestral-film experience, The Fellowship of the Ring in 2012, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, like Peter Jackson, was compelled to continue the journey – with The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

According to Doug Adams, the Chicago-based musician and writer, and author of the book The Music of the Lord of the Rings, Shore’s work is extraordinary. “The music of The Lord of the Rings is counted among film music’s most complex and comprehensive works. This unique performance sets the score to the film, but allows the music to bear the narrative weight, creating a wholly new and dramatic live concert experience,” he said.

There is one show only Saturday October 5 at 6.30pm. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster on 136 100 or www.ticketmaster.com.au There is more at www.qso.com.au
