With many hits under his belt, it’s only apt for Cosmo Jarvis to come back to Australia, his adopted home, to test some new songs from his forth coming album which is due for release in early 2014.
With the huge support from triple j, Cosmo Jarvis has been embraced by Australian fans with his hits including ‘Love This’, ‘ Sure As Hell Not Jesus, and ‘Gay Pirates’ – just to name a few. In an age when musicians either seem to be manufactured popstrels, media-trained to banality, or self consciously blog hyped, the 23 year old from Devon is a breath of fresh air.
Cosmo speaks his mind, and musically, he’s a magpie who will go anywhere, regardless of ‘cool’, from hip hop to punk hoedown to gorgeous ensemble orchestration.
Cosmo’s music and films have made him an online phenomenon. His YouTube shorts, usually observational comedy skits about small town life, have been viewed over two million times, his contagious shanty ‘Gay Pirates’, beloved of Stephen Fry, has 1.5 millions views alone, and he has tens of thousands of fans around the world, especially here where his shows sell out fast.
