Coming off the back of 18 months of solid touring including supporting The Potbelleez April 2013 tour, Enth Degree will launch their second single, This Moment, with a live performance on Thursday August 15 at The Zoo, Fortitude Valley Brisbane. This Moment follows on from the indie duo’s debut single, I Heart You, released in June 2013 and receiving airplay on Triple J’s unearthed radio program garnering them a rapidly growing national audience.
Enth Degree is an electronic crossover act – with a rock’n’roll attitude – featuring brothers Aaron (guitar/vocals) and Levi (lead vocals/drums) VanderAa. Originally hailing from Darwin and earning their gigging stripes playing the characteristically tough outback pubs, the duo has earned a solid fan base and popularity in the Territory. Blending their own unique electronica sound with vocals, drums and acoustic guitar, Enth Degree has built significant momentum over the previous 12months touring up and down the east coast of Australia. To accommodate their intensive touring schedule, Enth Degree has recently relocated to Byron Bay and with seven festivals and 135 shows under their Led Zeppelin-buckled belts – they’re only just getting started.
Enth Degree’s Aaron became the youngest university graduate in the Territory to complete a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Classical Guitar and Sound Engineering at Charles Darwin University.
“My brother Levi and I have been playing together for over a decade with non-stop busking, writing, teaching and gigging.
“Following my graduation from CDU in 2011, we found our own unique signature sound integrating live drums, vocals and acoustic guitar with gritty electronica.”
Following the release of their self-titled debut EP at the close of last year and single, I Heart You last month (to listen to I Heart You, click on – enthdegreeband.com), This Moment is Enth Degree’s latest balladesque offer. Written in Gympie and recorded in Byron Bay, the song according to singer Levi is about “the journey you go on with someone special; living in the moment, right here, right now where this moment is all we have.”
This Moment encapsulates the familiar sound and signature ‘Enth hook’ that the ensemble’s loyal fans have come to embrace at their live shows and one which embeds itself snugly in the subconscious. It is the unique and original sound of This Moment that is sure to catapult Enth Degree firmly onto the Australian music scene.
“We’re not DJs but rather our shows are built on a high-energy performance with live instruments and raw energy.” states Levi.
“We want our Brisbane audience to forget where they are, who they are, and what inhibitions they have and live in this moment with us.”
Tickets for the Enth Degree This Moment single launch at The Zoo will be available at the venue door on August 15 2013. Doors open at 7.30pm for $8.00 ticket entry. Enth Degree is the headline act on stage from 10.00pm.
Enth Degree is scheduled to release their second EP in the coming few months with their debut album slated for January 2014.
