On the eve of their 20-date, North American tour, The Presets announce their new single, ‘Fall’, backed with remixes from Hook N Sling, Tomas Barfod, Ta-Ku, Alan Braxe, Erick Rincon, and Club Mod’s SymbolOne from Croatia. The ‘Fall’ remix package will be released as a digital bundle in Australia on May 10.
‘Fall’ is the 4th single from the highly acclaimed Pacifica album, ‘Pacifica’ album (Daily Telegraph and Herald Sun ‘Album of The Year’, Sydney Morning Herald ‘Electronic Album of The Year’, J Awards and AMP ‘Award Album of the Year’ Nominee).
“Sometimes we find love in places we don’t expect, and if we are lucky enough for that to happen to us in our lifetime, then I believe it should be embraced and celebrated – even if other people around us find it hard to accept,” says singer Julian Hamilton.
‘Fall’ was inspired by a story I read in the paper about a gay woman whose mother wouldn’t accept her homosexuality. The line ‘two soft bodies, all the way to hell’ was something the mother had said to her daughter – quite a horrible thing for a mother to say, yet in some ways a very beautiful image if interpreted in a different light.  I kind of interpreted feelings of escape, freedom, flying.”
The forthcoming video for ‘Fall’ was shot by Australian director Clemens Habicht of Collider. Habicht has previously directed stellar videos for the likes of Bloc Party and Tame Impala.  Shot in rural France, the video is one mighty plummet from the heavens above, a kind of ‘Point Break’ extreme sports ballet dance, 20,000 leagues above the sea.
The Hook N Sling remix of ‘Fall’ is already smashing dance floors around Australia, having entered the Top 10 in the ARIA Club Charts. The next remix revealed comes from Tomas Barfod, producer and drummer of Danish band Who Made Who, whose take on ‘Fall’ is “a blissful sunset drive home that would work easily enough on the dance floor as it would any other environment you would care to enjoy it”, says The Presets’ Kim Moyes.
