Sydney-based electronic shape-shifters, Canyons, are heading to the US for a brief run of DJ dates at the end of this month. It’s the lads’ first US visit since the release of 2011’s Keep Your Dreams album.

New York, Philly and Palm Springs will play lucky hosts to their jungle-infused beats, and full tour details and ticketing information can be found below and here.

Locally, it’s also go for Canyons as they headline the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art’s Up Late series with an epic musical and audio-visual installation collaboration this week. ‘100 Million Nights’ is a cutting edge new LED installation by Sydney visual artist Daniel Boyd, scored by Canyons and performed live by the duo, accompanied by a five piece band immersed in the lights. Further tour dates will be announced shortly!

To celebrate all the activity, the boys are giving away a free download edit of their single ‘When I See You Again’ – an intoxicating remix by current #1 UK singles chart topper, Duke Dumont.

PRAISE FOR CANYONS KEEP YOUR DREAMS

“Canyons have long been one of Australia’s better kept secrets.”Flavorpill

“Scrappy, homemade, lush and simultaneously familiar and completely foreign.” – The Fader

“Canyons are maximalists who seem pained to follow one idea to its conclusion when they can keep things mutating, unrepentant oddballs who still love a good earworm but would prefer to have three.” – Pitchfork

“It sounds like what would have happened if that sax scene from Lost Boys swapped the beefcake with the ponytail and greasy torso for Arthur Russell in post-disco mode, plus some astral synths and elephant noises. It’s dance music, clearly.”Stereogum
