Niche Productions & Premier Artists are pleased to announce that the first show of the forthcoming Tim Rogers and The Bamboos aptly titled ‘The Rock ‘n Soul Medicine Show’ tour in Perth has totally sold out. Part of this month’s Perth Festival, the show at the Chevron Festival Gardens sold out more than a month in advance. They join other acts playing the Perth Fest including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Dead Can Dance & Father John Misty.
Tim and Bamboos leader Lance Ferguson have just revealed that they are currently in the studio writing new songs that will be premiered on this tour. These will be their first collaborations since the breakthrough track, “I Got Burned”. They are also deciding on which You Am I classics to re-work in the trademark Bamboos style, something already famously done to songs by the likes of Kings Of Leon and James Blake. Likewise, Tim will be adding his vocals to some of the Bamboos own classic tracks.
After much deliberation they have agreed on which of their all-time favourite songs they will perform as covers in the set. Some of them are well known and others are genuine lost classics they are keen to revive. The chemistry between Tim and the two resident Bamboos vocalists Kylie Auldist and Ella Thompson promises to generate sparks on stage, and at least one duet with Tim is in store.
The tour will be hot on the heels of “I Got Burned” making it to #54 on this year’s Triple J’s Hottest 100.
After performing “I Got Burned” together live a handful of times – most notably on ABC1’s ‘Adam Hills In Gordon Street Tonight’ – both Tim and Lance have been keen to transform their natural affinity into something much bigger. And that something is the ‘Rock ‘N’ Soul Medicine Show’
