Global superstars One Direction announce an unprecedented worldwide event, ‘1D Day’, which will give people from every corner of the world a unique opportunity to enter into One Direction’s world through a seven-hour live broadcast with the band.  1D Day will be broadcast live on the 23rd November.

1D Day is the first live event of its kind, giving people from different countries and time-zones the chance to interact with the band throughout the broadcast. With the quality of a high-end HD production and the intimacy of a web chat the event will provide unparalleled access to One Direction’s world, helping the band reach fans in every country.  It will feature special guest appearances, sketches with the band, live broadcasts with different countries and fan-generated videos.

The 1D Day campaign launches today with competitions and fan events around the world which will make sure the fans are as big a part of the broadcast as the special guests and band themselves.  Fans should check the band’s social media (Google+, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter) and official site regularly for updates on how to get involved.

One Direction are currently on their Australian leg of the 2013 World Tour which hit Melbourne tonight before taking in Sydney later this week then Brisbane the week after. The Australian leg of the tour concludes on Wednesday October 30th.

Having recently announced their third studio album MIDNIGHT MEMORIES, it is due for release on the 25th November through Sony Music Entertainment Australia.  The band have also announced the first few legs of a worldwide stadium tour for 2014 – including eight sold out dates in the UK and Ireland. Stay tuned on news for Australian dates in 2014.

With their two albums to date – UP ALL NIGHT and TAKE ME HOME –One Direction have sold over 30 million records worldwide. They’ve won two BRIT awards, three MTV Europe Music awards, three Billboard Music awards, an ARIA Award, and this year achieved their third UK number one with the official Red Nose Day 2013 single ‘One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)’. This summer, One Direction made their cinema debut with their massive hit 3D concert movie ‘One Direction: This Is Us.’ The film has been a phenomenal success, topping box offices around the world and grossing an incredible $60 million worldwide.
